The Ghostly Doctor is a Chinese manhua with a sharp, capable heroine and a revenge-driven rebirth plot. Martial arts, poison craft and sect politics give it a wuxia flavour, while the lead’s personality keeps it lively.
Synopsis
She, the leader of the hidden sect, specializes in poison and assassination. A genius, and a weirdo, in the eyes of others. After dying from an accident, she was reborn in the body of a disfigured lady. Having her identity changed and unable to return to her family, she abandoned them, but, if she doesn’t take revenge on those who caused her harm, will she be worthy of the title “The Ghostly Doctor“? As clouds gather, heroes fight to be the strongest! How will she conquer the world in a red robe, and fight among the strong heroes?!
What The Ghostly Doctor Is About
The heroine was the leader of a hidden sect, a specialist in poison and assassination whom others saw as both a genius and an oddball. After she dies in an accident, she wakes in the body of a disfigured young lady with a completely new identity.
Unable to return to her own family, she walks away from them, but the people who harmed her new body have not been dealt with. The story asks whether she can live up to the title of the Ghostly Doctor by settling those scores, and how she will stand among powerful heroes as rivals fight to be the strongest.
Tone and Themes
Expect confident, often cheeky energy from the lead, mixed with action and revenge drama. Her medical and poison knowledge turns many confrontations into battles of wits rather than pure strength. Themes include reinvention, self-reliance and justice for people who were written off.
Who Should Read The Ghostly Doctor?
Readers who like strong female leads, transmigration stories and martial-arts fantasy will enjoy it. It is also a good next read if you liked revenge-rebirth plots such as Magic Emperor. There is combat and some violence, as expected from the genre.
If you enjoy it, try Magic Emperor or The Villain’s Daughter Plans to Run Away next, or browse more Adventure series.
Where to Start The Ghostly Doctor
Start from the beginning, since the heroine’s rebirth and her first moves for revenge set the tone for the rest of the series.
